Do you also like to use it? I can’t even imagine taking a shower without a bath pouf. Recently I also saw them on pinterest in their crochet version. So I also thought, I can get started with this too! It is so nice to use my handmade bath poufs!
After a number of attempts I came up with 1 basic pattern, yes, there were first a number of less good versions. But in the end I had a perfect basic pattern to start with. With this basic pattern I could start crocheting different versions in any type of cotton.

Pattern 1 : the basic

- Hook nr 4 mm (see conversion table for other metrics)
- 1 ball gründl Cotton Fun Schulgarn
Gauge
Chain 16 then work 16 double crochets per row over 9 rows. In this way you obtain a gauge of 10 cm x 10 cm.
Pattern

0-1 | Start with a magic ring (how to make this is here explained) with 8 single crochets, close with a slip stitch, chain 35 chains and close this ring on the magic circle, continue working in the magic circle. |

Pattern 2 : two-tone curls

- 1 ball drops safran (apple green)
- 1 ball drops safran (sage green)

0 | work a chain of 6 chains, close with a slipt stitch. make 6 single crochets, join with a slip stitch, now work 35 chain stitches and join the small ring with a slip stitch, continue working in the small ring |

3 | again work 3 double crochets in every single crochet, about halfway through this round you start with the 2nd color. |

Pattern 3 : wide curls with picots

Pattern
Crochet the basic pattern. Then you crochet an extra row with picots. Work 2 single crochets, work a picot (3 chain stitches and slip stitch in the first chain stitches), repeat to end of round.

Start with the basic pattern here too. Then work this extra round with the following pattern : 1 single crochet, 1 half double crochet, 1 double crochet, 2 treble crochets, 1 double crochet, 1 half double crochet and a single crochet.
Pattern 5 : oval base

- Mayflower Cotton 8 junior
Gauge
Chain 22, then work 22 double crochets per row over 10 rows. In this way you obtain a gauge of 10 cm x 10 cm.

0 | Chain 40, close the chain with a slip stitch. This is the loop of the bath pouf. Now work, now chain 10. |
1 | Work 1 chain to be the first single crochet from the first round. Work 9 single crochets on the next 9 chain stitches. Then work 10 more single crochets at the bottom of the chain stitches. Close with a slip stitch, this way we will work around from now on. |
2 | Chain 2, counts as first double crochet in first single crochet, work 2 more double crochets in first single crochet from previous round. Then work 3 double crochets in every single crochet. Close with a slip stitch. |
3 | Chain 2, counts as first double crochet in first stitch, work 2 more double crochets in first double crochet from previous round. Then work 3 double crochets in each double crochet. Close with a slip stitch. |
4 | Chain 2, counts as first double crochet in first stitch, now only work 1 double crochet on each stitch from previous round. Close with a slip stitch. |
