How to crochet easter eggs in an easy way

Story

I had actually been looking for Easter eggs for a while to bring some Easter atmosphere into the house. To my surprise I found one in the local supermarket. Now that was a stroke of luck. I liked the colours of the eggs and I thought I could do something with them.

But at home I was a bit disappointed, the finishing touch of the eggs was not quite what I suspected. After some surfing, Pinterest gave me the perfect idea to crochet Easter eggs! I have quite a few colours of cotton lying around and I immediately got to work! The plastic eggs get a crocheted cover! Below you will find my basic pattern to crochet eggs! Below I give some tips to do the same for smaller or larger eggs!

Finish

I have a small tip for tucking the wires. I use a curved darning needle, this is very handy to tuck the wires in the spherical eggs!

And as promised some tips if your eggs are bigger or smaller! If the eggs are smaller, then shorten the piece to increase. Pass the egg now and then, when you have reached the maximum number of increments. When decreasing, you also shorten some rounds here.

If your egg is bigger and thicker, increase a little more, per round extra, leave 1 sc extra more between increasing. Adjust the egg here and there as well. When decreasing, you insert rounds in the same way and continue decreasing in the same way.

I worked out this basic pattern in the same way!

Have fun crocheting these eggs!
